The first volume introduces the reader to basics in both engineering and life sciences required for designing an optimal bioprocess system. The book encompasses life science subjects such as cell physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology for the benefit of engineers and contains engineering fundamentals required for life science experts which are restricted to fluid mechanics, reaction engineering, heat and mass transfer, and analytical techniques involved in bioprocess engineering.
