Der zweite Vorarlberg Band der Reihe "Corpus Musicae Popularis Austriacae" des Österreichischen Volksliedwerks nimmt diese Sammlung in ihren Fokus und legt eine Dokumentation der Ergebnisse aus dem Kreis Bregenz mit zeitgemäßer Notation und ausführlichen Kommentaren vor. Ergänzend dazu werden die ältesten überlieferten Lieder- und Musikantenhandschriften aus den ersten drei Jahrzehnten des 19. Jahrhunderts einer näheren Untersuchung unterzogen. In wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen wird versucht, den historischen Ablauf des Sammelunternehmens sowie das Musikleben der frühen Biedermeierzeit anhand von historischen Quellen näher zu beleuchten.

Text in German. The year 1819 is a special milestone in the music history of today's Austrian province of Vorarlberg. The participation of the State of Vorarlberg in the folk music collection of the Gesellschaft für Musikfreunde in Vienna, now known as the "Sonnleithner Collection", drew attention to musical life in the west of the Habsburg Empire for the first time. The second Vorarlberg volume in the "Corpus Musicae Popularis Austriacae" series by the Austrian Folk Song Association focuses on this collection and presents a documentation of the results from the Bregenz district with contemporary notation and detailed comments. In addition to this, the oldest surviving manuscripts of songs and musicians from the first three decades of the 19th century are subjected to closer examination. Scientific articles attempt to shed more light on the historical course of the collecting company and the musical life of the early Biedermeier period using historical sources.
