Musik trägt zur religiösen Lebenskunst bei. Wie das geschieht und wie es theologisch zu würdigen ist, zeigen die Beiträge dieses Bandes. Musik konnte vor allem im Protestantismus zum herausragenden Medium spiritueller Erfahrungen werden. Sie lässt sich als Spiel der Freiheit theologisch wertschätzen.
