Mosbys Pediatric Patient Teaching Guides offers to the health care provider an inexpensive means of access to a large variety of topics for patient teaching. The binder includes nearly 200 individual guides, which can be copied and handed to children and their families. The guides are written for patients at an appropriate level. Instructions are written clearly and simply in an easy-to-follow format. The topics cover explanations of specific diseases and disorders (including chronic conditions), diagnostic procedures, medical and surgical treatments, home care guidelines, and screening and health promotion information.
The guides are also available on CD-ROM. The complete text, including instructions, illustrations, and charts, can be accessed by the table of contents or the index, then printed out, offering instant access to all the guides. The CD-ROM also contains an additional sheet that can be printed out, allowing the health care provider to write in specific patient information and individualize theguides.
