- Rondo. Das mit der Academy of St Martin in the Fields veröffentlichte Album Beethoven: Complete Piano Concertos erscheint nun zu Beginn des Beethoven-Jahres 2020 auch auf DVD, Blu-ray sowie als eAlbum.
Der Pianist sieht in den 5 Konzerten keinen Zyklus im engeren Sinne: Dennoch gehören sie zusammen, denn sie zeigen ein unglaublich differenziertes Bild des Komponisten, angefangen mit den beiden ersten Konzerten, die noch das Erbe Mozarts verraten, über die so unterschiedlichen Werke 3 und 4 bis hin zum majestätischen Es-Dur-Konzert. Lisiecki fasziniert diese Vielfalt, weil hier alle wichtigen, teils gegensätzlichen Facetten Beethovens zusammenkommen. Oberste Prämisse für den Pianisten ist die musikalische Klarheit. Nur dann kann ein Hörer Beethovens Musik als die Summe unterschiedlicher Ideen auch nachvollziehen.
Das Album ist ein Meilenstein zu Beginn des Beethoven-Jahres 2020.
