Why don't you give exact delivery time?

Delivery time is estimated on our previous experiences. We give estimations only, because we order from outside Hungary, and the delivery time mainly depends on how quickly the publisher supplies the book. Faster or slower deliveries both happen, but we do our best to supply as quickly as possible.

    Long description:

This text describes in detail how to employ different research methods of data collection and analysis that are most commonly used in Physical Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences.  It uses examples and formative assignments to help students develop their skills in data collection and analysis methods, including in the field and laboratory. It uses straightforward language with practical tips, troubleshooting problems, and supported by online resources so that students can better evaluate those techniques in action and learn by example. The book also explains how different but complementary methods can be put together in order to get the most out of the research process and to lead to successful research projects.

The four sections describe the sequential stages of investigation: the context of geographical research; investigating the physical environment; working with data; and applying geographical research. The research methods included in the book cover those most commonly employed in fluvial, coastal, glacial and mountain environments. Field and laboratory methods of data collection and analysis are described, including appropriate statistical techniques.

All students in Physical Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences have to undertake some kind of research project. Although several books focus on why certain research methods are used, no book focuses on how to use these methods. This handbook does exactly that. It describes in detail each step of those data collection and analysis methods that are used most commonly in Physical Geography projects. There is an explicit emphasis in this book on developing students’ research and analytical skills. This is supported by a range of formative assignments and online materials that may include videos, audio files, spreadsheets and expanded case studies.
