Neben Fragen, die auch schon diagnostisches Wissen dokumentieren, sind es insbesondere prädiagnostische Mitteilungen, mit denen Ärzte diagnostisch relevante Aspekte erfassen und für eine diagnostische Integration festhalten. In solchen Mitteilungen sagt der Arzt, was er gerade sieht, hört und fühlt oder denkt. Der Patient wird so am gedanklichen Diagnoseprozess beteiligt.
