Why don't you give exact delivery time?

Delivery time is estimated on our previous experiences. We give estimations only, because we order from outside Hungary, and the delivery time mainly depends on how quickly the publisher supplies the book. Faster or slower deliveries both happen, but we do our best to supply as quickly as possible.

    Long description:

This intensive foundation course in German is designed for students with no previous knowledge of the language. Offering an original and distinctive approach to language learning, the course presents German within its cultural context and encourages both practical language skills and enhanced communicative strategies.

An answer key is supplied for all relevant exercises, and features of the course include:

    • reading and listening texts as well as texts for closer analysis

    • ?language focus? sections on grammar, ?test your knowledge? exercises and issues of style and social communication

    • informative notes explaining cultural references

    • lots of exercises, including revision of previously learnt vocabulary or language patterns.

Using authentic language throughout, the Routledge Intensive German Course takes students from beginner to intermediate level in one year. Progress is carefully structured, starting with simple grammar and working towards more complex points with the acquisition of a significant body of vocabulary, so ultimately enabling students to understand complex language patterns and express themselves fluently in a wide range of situations.

To perfect listening and pronunciation skills, audio materials are available here: www.routledge.com/9780415253468, as well as guidance for tutors, and links to related sites.

"My overall response to the proposed course is a very positive one.  The author addresses the typical needs of ab initio German at Tertiary level.  I could well imagine this work being used at the University of Glasgow...With this course, Mr Hartley could provide a most valuable tool." (Dr Peter Hasler, Department of German, University of Glasgow)

Ruth Whittle, University of Birmingham, also reviewed the proposal: she felt that it was "well-aimed, well-informed and...feasible as well as exciting".  However, she had a number of detailed points to make about language use and the discrepancy between the sample units and the course outline/intentions.

"The proposed course has a sound methodological approach to German and a well thought out structure.  It would fill a niche with its more structured grammar syllabus and ballanced approach to teaching the four skills... I can generally recommend the course".  Uwe Richter, Field Leader, German, Anglia Polytechnnic University
