In der letzten der im Sommersemester 1959 gehaltenen Vorlesungen zu Immanuel Kants Kritik der reinen Vernunft, die nun als Taschenbuch vorliegen, spricht Adorno von einem dialektischen Denken, ?dessen Elemente ich Ihnen an Kant entwickelt habe?. Deutlicher konnte Adorno nicht sagen, worum es ihm ging: nicht um immanente Auslegung des historischen Kant, sondern in Auseinandersetzung mit Kants Transzendentalphilosophie um ?die Grundlegung der philosophischen Position, wie ich sie vertrete? - und für die er erst später den Namen ?negative Dialektik? fand.
