Der Band zieht eine Zwischenbilanz zum gegenwärtigen Stand der Historischen Lexikographie des Deutschen und lotet Perspektiven für die zukünftige Arbeit aus. Im Zentrum der Beiträge steht dabei zum einen die fachliche Weiterentwicklung aktueller Wörterbuchvorhaben, die im digitalen Zeitalter vor allem auch mit einer intensivierten Vernetzung der Projekte untereinander sowie mit anderen Ressourcen einhergeht. Zum anderen werden Brückenschläge zu weiteren Formen der Auseinandersetzung mit Wörtern und Wörterbüchern unternommen, wie sie besonders in der Literatur und im Museum, aber auch zunehmend in alltäglichen digitalen Medien und Plattformen wie Google und Wikipedia begegnen.
This volume takes stock of the current state of the historical lexicography of German, sounding out the prospects for future research. It focuses on the ongoing development of dictionary projects in the digital age and the links being forged to other forms of engagement with words and dictionaries, as in literature and the museum, but also in relation to digital offerings, such as Wikipedia.
