Several coin names are inter-related, such as the dollar and the thaler, the dinar and the denarius and such names are fully cross-referenced in the book, enabling readers to trace the genesis of a particular name. The 2 appendices present related names by category of their origin and by their linguistic ‘family’. The entries are in a readable narrative style and the book is highly illustrated. The extensive introduction explains the importance and continuing significance of coin names throughout the world.
