Der tschechische Komponist Frantisek Ignác Antonín Tuma (1704-1774) wirkte ab ca. 1727 in Wien, wo er auch Kapellmeister der Kaiserin-Witwe Elisabeth Christine von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel war und besonders für seine geistliche Musik geschätzt wurde. Das vorliegende Album stellt einige seiner Werke vor. Die Stücke, die Tuma in seiner späten Schaffensphase schrieb, sind ein Beweis für seine kompositorische Meisterschaft und die Fähigkeit, geschickt alte und neue Stilrichtungen miteinander zu verschmelzen, was zu bemerkenswerter geistlicher und instrumentaler Musik führte.
