Long description:
This volume makes accessible three essential fields of work that Schelling pursued in Munich from 1813 onwards. These are contributions from the 'Allgemeine Zeitschrift' founded by Schelling himself, which contains, among other contributions, an epistolary confrontation with the philosophy of A. C. A. Eschenmayer. The speech 'Ueber die Gottheiten von Samothrace', given at the Academy on 12 October 1815, is closely related to the 'Weltalter' project initiated as early as 1810. Furthermore, Schelling wrote extensive philological and art-philosophical notes on the pediments of the Temple of Aphaia in Aeginet and published them in 1817 together with Johann Martin von Wagner. Overall, the volume opens up Schelling's still little researched philosophical development between the Theism Debate with F. H. Jacobi and the later 'Erlanger Vorträge' from 1820 onwards.
