Este estudio propone adaptar la teoría de enregistramiento (Agha 2007) a sociedades de tradición oral, para acercarse al español hablado en Guinea Ecuatorial – que hasta ahora ha recibido poca atención de la lingüística.
La lingüística romanística occidental se basa en artefactos tangibles para estudiar una variedad lingüística. Sus herramientas no son apropiadas para el estudio de sociedades que negocian valores sociales utilizando estrategias sociofonéticas (artefactos intangibles). Para solucionar este problema, el presente estudio aplica una sociolingüística crítica y decentralizada que permite adaptar teorizaciones y métodos a las bases epistémicas in situ. Elige una operacionalización sociocognitiva y perceptiva que parte de hablantes como expertxs de la variación lingüística.
